@RyanKing - Yes, dozens of people are successfully running Win7 32-bit PAE patched kernel with WinXP Intel HD Driver. It just requires a minor edit to igxp32.inf so that the driver says that it supports Win7.

Scroll down to the 5th comment where it says: "Andy says: May 7, 2013 at 4:32 am" for complete instructions. You will find in the comments of that page dozens of people have reported success in running Win7 PAE-patch with WinXP IntelHD driver. Also, note that Wen Jia Liu (wj32) is the author of acclaimed tool "Process Hacker" and recognized expert in NT architecture and so his PAE patch should be considered quite credible and safe.

Hi Diego, the local email support isn't a technical support channel..  I will need make a trip to the service centre again to ask this question.. will it void the warranty.

When I got the notebook, the cache is working fine.. even after I upgrade to WIn8Pro. That is with the hibernation partition. From pervious experience with the service centre, they state they are responsible to put it back to factory default, I doubt they will agree to the suggestion above.

 

The problem now is, the engineer said it is working fine as it is now.. it is like that.

 

So far there is no suggestion from Toshiba.com forum too (like the local Toshiba email support)

Guess I've to figure myself.. and void the warranty.    Or another trip down and spend hours there to convince them it is not.

On the download page, 11.2.0.1006 is only advertised for Intel Desktop boards. Is it safe to use this version on a non-Intel MB with a BIOS which officially only supports IRST 10.8.0.1003?

 

IIRC there were some reports regarding regressions in CSMI support of some 11.* drivers. Does CSMI_SAS_STP_PASSTHRU still work with 11.2.0.1006?

(I'm author and maintainer of the Windows version of smartmontools, so it is mandatory that pass-through functionality works on my machines)

 

Same questions apply to newer IRST 11.5.0.1207 :-)

Anything new on that issue? I have a very similar problem.

 

I tried reinstalling all drivers but it didn't work and it broke my switchable graphics (Samsung NP770Z5E-S01FR).

 

I suspect a firmware update on the belkin screenshare could fix the problem but I can't update if I can't connect it's a bit stupid...

Windows 8.1 and Intel HD 4000: No Advanced mode!

I recently updated to Windows 8.1 on a Dell XPS 27 One with a Intel HD 4000 graphics card.

 

Now when I open the "Intel HD Graphics Control Panel" for my second monitor (a Dell U2713hm Digital display) I can no longer use advanced settings. I receive this message:

 

"This display does not support any of the advanced settings."

 

The display does DID support them before and should now. I need to set a custom/higher resolution, but can't.

 

Anyone have any idea how I can get the Advanced settings to return???

Hi!

 

I am doing my MSc thesis on a system which moves a huge amount of data to a PC through optical fiber.

I've bought E10G42BTDA wich mounts Intel 82599ES.

On the system side I have an FPGA.

I'm wondering if there is any DLL that I can use to read data coming from the FPGA.

I'm running C# code to read.

If not, how can I make it feasible?

Is the S3700 800GB suitable for RAID6 for our main storage unit for our servers for 500 users?

Our consultants say that the flash cells of MLC SSDs wear out too fast for this application, citing 3000 program-erase cycles. To my knowledge enterprise multi-level cells like in the Intel s3700 should last 10.000 to 30.000 cycles. If you do a simplified calculation for 10 disk writes per day for 5 years then you get 10 x 365 x 5 = 18250 cycles. Ok there is no over provisioning or write amplification included in this simplified calculation.

 

One of the other statements was that when one disk in the array fails, additional load could easily wear out the remaining disks early. Since the data for the missing disk is just calculated from the parity information I do not see this point.

 

Has anybody deployed the s3700 in heavy load application for several months?

Could it be charging/decharging of a capacitor in the voltage regulator that (I assume) is between the secondary ADC and the SCC chip? As the voltage still is decreased after this point to the standard 1.1V supply voltage...

然后在网站和论坛上查阅过相关资料

只要发生8M门的SSD 就算修复 再次发生8M的可能性依然非常高

数据是无价的 我不可能去冒这样的风险

 

联系英迈送修后 英迈没有事先通知

就直接给我发回了710ssd

作为一个用家，我并不知道仓库的情况，如果要更换不同型号的ssd

正确的流程应该是首先通知我 说明情况 问我是否愿意更换710ssd

而不是直接快递发一个过来了事  我回电话说对这次更换不满意

然后才告诉我 仓库x25-e没货

我要求更换300G的710 得到的答复就是我们没有这样的政策

这是你们制定的霸王条款！

 

 

这是企业级的ssd 购买于2年多前 发票已经上缴财务部

是不是我能找到并且出示这张发票 你们就可以更换300G？

I could incrementally update BIOS up to version 43 (so TCIBX10H.86A.0043.2011.0112.183 is my current version). But when I attempt to install some of the newer versions (I tried with all of them: 44, 45, 46 and 48) I get the "Flash update failed!" error. I have tried the "windows based" and the F7 based method.

 

I think that there is no local support here in Rosario, Argentina.

 

The machine seems to be more stable now (I will test it further later) but it is still failling:

  • IPDT passed succesfully one time (I can send you the output if needed) after BIOS update, but when I ran it again two hours later it detected the same memory controller failure (no reboot in between)!!
  • Video playback seems more stable, but I left the computer playing a 9 hs. video last night and this morning the video was hang. Something was working: keyboards leds where responsive, so I pressed Alt-F4 several times and Alt-a ("apagar" -turn off in my language-) to close the system. After that, the keyboards leds stopped to work, the machine didn't turn off and hdd activity indicator leds blinked until I turned the computer off with the switch.
  • Ubuntu  is still unresponsive after login in X (text mode always works), but some scanning is visible now.

Thank you for your reply.  The links were helpful in selecting which packages will be installed, but I do not see any information on how to set preferences such as Xpincontrol=true,  HideTrayIcon=true,  IdeTaskTrayOOBE=true.

 

Am I just missing that information in the links you provided?

 

 

Also as a test I attempted to do a install with the Setup.XML as it is writen in the extracted file.  with the following command,

Setup.exe -config "Path to XML" -log "path to Log file".

 

I get The following error message

Also, can you confirm if the Hard Disk Drive is a storage driver or a bootable drive?

I do not want to boot from the drive, just use it for data.

 

I don't know what/how to do a dxdiag.  Please point me to how to do this.

Found the DirectX Diagnostic tool on my pc. 

 

   Says "  A problem caused the program to stop working ....

Thanks for the blind walk through of the keys to reset defaults with "configuration mode". This method successfully reset my settings!

 

NOTE for others: The battery pull and recovery mode did not work for me to reset settings (although it did update my bios I can now see, but did not default the settings). I would try the configuration mode suggested above first.

At this moment the driver being used is an inbox driver that is provided with that operating system release which may have limited options.

A driver for this platform will be available in downloadcenter once its properly validated, however we may not provide an estimated time for this to happen.

I have a similar problem with the Intel DG33FB desktop board. Windows 8.1 premium installed beautifully, but there is a yellow exclamation in the Device Manager next to an "unknown PCI communication device" which is almost certainly the Intel Management Engine Interface (IMEI). It has no driver, and none can be installed. I contacted Intel support. After two days of silence and after a message to their C.E.O. they have given me two contradictory answers. One says they only support "production versions of valid operating systems" and have no driver for Windows 8.1 Preview, the other says they want to know the model of my board so they can provide me with the correct drivers... I would not install Windows 8.1 on any computer system until such time a Intel has completed releasing all its drivers for this system.
